A homeowner in Duluth, MN reached out to DBS when they observed ice dams forming on their roof, causing them to worry about their home's well-being. They wanted to prevent damage and find a permanent solution for their home. Our Design Specialist went out to the property to do a free, no-obligation estimate to determine the best solution for the homeowner. After the inspection, our Design Specialist recommended our Spray Foam and cellulose insulation solution.
Our Foreman, Nicholas Wood led the installation of this project with help from a team. The crew began by removing the old insulation and debris. Then they began the insulation process with the first layer of Spray Foam insulation since it also acts as an air sealant and a moisture barrier. Cellulose insulation is then blown into the space to help create a lasting and effective solution. Now this homeowner can relax in their healthy home!
This homeowner in Duluth, MN had concerns about ice dams and vermiculite being asbestos. With four kids and plans to reside in the home long-term, ensuring safety and structural integrity was paramount.
Our Appointment Center promptly set up a free, no obligation inspection with Design Specialist Heidi. During the inspection, vermiculite was found uncovered and signs of moisture spreading in the attic, with a back bedroom exhibiting discoloration on the ceiling. To address these issues, a hybrid system with baffles was recommended, coupled with preemptive measures like MoldX© treatment post-removal. Production team, led by Foreman Wade installed the system with baffles and MoldX©, ensuring a comprehensive solution for their home's well-being.
This Duluth, MN home had an attic that was finished and converted to living space. Unfortunately, it was not effectively insulated and was proving to be uncomfortable in both extreme winter and summer conditions. Looking to for an insulation solution to fix this problem, the homeowners reached out to DBS.
A Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. After inspecting the property and conducting an energy audit, it was determined that proper air sealing and a combination of spray foam and rigid foam insulation were necessary to effectively seal the space.
Our production crew first sealed the gaps in building material and spaces surrounding the attic ducts with ZypFoam™. They then laid down TerraBlock™, our foam insulation that is infused with graphite for a higher R-value. From there, they completely sealed the space with closed-cell spray foam, at 3-5 inches depending on the location in the attic.
Sealing the attic was key to prevent warm air from escaping the home, and improving the overall energy health of the space.
A homeowner in Duluth, MN was looking to better insulate the attic of their home, and reached out to DBS for some assistance. The attic originally had fiberglass wool insulation, a common item within households. This insulation was not quite getting the job done as far as warming the home and creating a more energy-saving environment. After a free, no-obligation estimate, it was determined that the home would need to have spray home insulation installed to replace the old fiberglass wool. Spray foam works wonders to create a more insulated and air leak-free home environment, and this homeowner can now enjoy a more energy-saving area.
This homeowner reached out to DBS after expressing concerns about mold in their basement and was seeking an overall, more energy-efficient home. Desiring reduced moisture levels, our Design Specialist took note of these wants and suggested that we install our SaniDry® dehumidifier and insulate the basement rim joist to secure the dryness while also saving energy for their home.
The job progressed successfully with the installation of spray foam to the rim joist after the demolition of sections of the wall. Once the SaniDry® was installed, the customer was happy with the work that was completed!
