This recently purchased home in Superior, WI was built in the 1880s and was in need of structural repair. The owner was hoping to re-hap the home and re-sell it. But before making any major renovations, they wanted to make sure that the home had a healthy foundation and crawl space so they reached out to DBS for a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. DBS Design Specialist James Miller visited the home and gave a thorough inspection of the crawl space. He designed a plan with the homeowner to stabilize the home by lifting the sagging floor in the crawl space. DBS Foreman Osia and his foundation repair crew had the task of installing a crawl space support system and lifting the home back to level. The DBS repair crew installed a supplemental beam steel beam to ensure the home is properly supported for years to come. Beneath the existing supports and new steel I-beam, we placed 10 SmartJack® beams. These telescoping support beams have steel footings and can be hand adjusted to support natural settling due to soil movement throughout the years. They also installed a SmartDrain® and sump pump to take care of water issues beneath the home.
