Homeowners of this older home in Minneapolis, MN had bouncy floors on their main level. Soft spots in the floor meant that support in the basements was lacking. They called DBS to schedule a free, no-obligation estimate for our expertise in diagnosing the structural issues.
DBS Design Specialist Nathan Schroeder visited the home and gave a thorough inspection. He pinpointed the weak areas in the floor and evaluated the basement support system. Because this home was built in 1901, it is not surprising that some of the floor joists are starting to droop. Nathan suggesting installing our SmartJack® System.
DBS Foreman Zach Jorenby and his basement repair crew installed supplemental supports for the sinking floor joists, as well as our SmartJack® System. Each SmartJack® vertical support beam is secured to the basement ceiling, as sealed with concrete into the basement floor. Made from galvanized steel, these beams are adjusted with a heavy-duty threaded rod to meet any basement or crawlspace ceiling. Once installed, they offer permanent stabilization.
The built-in garage in this Saint Paul, MN home had bowing walls. Because the garage was partially below-grade, soil movement was causing the walls and crack and shift inward. After receiving a recommendation to contact DBS for a free, no-obligation estimate, this homeowner gave us a call.
DBS Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer visited the home and provided a thorough estimate of the garage space. Because the garage was partially below-grade, Henry suggested two systems to fully stabilized the walls. First, the PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System, to stop movement. Second, the GeoLock™ Wall Anchor System to put the walls in place using a combination of interior wall plates and exterior wall anchors.
DBS Basement Repair Foreman Zach Jorenby and his crew installed both systems. In total, 7 PowerBrace beams 4 GeoLocks were installed to restore this failing foundation.
This family cabin in Hayward, WI has been in the family for generations. Originally built in 1938, the boathouse block foundation was in jeopardy of collapsing. Looking for a permanent solution, they reached out to DBS for more information about our foundation support systems.
DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the family cabin and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the foundation support work. He determined that supplemental support and helical piers were needed to permanently support the boathouse and guest cabin where the foundation was failing.
DBS Foremen Jose Valenzuela and Trevor Ingle co-lead our foundation piering team. They installed 87 feet of steel I-beams for much-needed supplemental support beneath the cabin. From there, they installed 10 helical piers outside of the cabin foundation in order to route the support for the structure to competent, weight-bearing soil.
This boathouse and guest cabin is now permanently stabilized, ready for the generations to come to enjoy!

DBS Design Specialist James Miller visited the Wisconsin home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the foundation support work. He determined that the crawl space would have supplemental support beams installed to stabilize the floor. Helical piers would then be installed at the foundation footing to lift and support the home.
DBS Foreman Trevor Ingle and his crew added 17 feet of supplemental support beneath the cabin. From there, they installed 12 helical piers and 2 SmartJack® support beams. To finish the job, they added our SilverGlo™ insulation topped with gravel as frost protection, preventing heaving to the foundation footings as the ground freezes during winter months.
The homeowners were relieved to have a foundation repair system that will permanently protect their home.
