This recently purchased cabin in Eveleth, MN was in need of some structural support. Its dirt crawl space was causing moisture issues as well a musty smell in the main living space. Because the cabin is not used year-round, they wanted to protect it as much as possible against moisture and fluctuating weather even when they aren't there. They reached out to DBS about our crawl space encapsulation service.

Design Specialist Rich Johnsen visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate. Foreman Nick Burley and his production crew installed 8 SmartJack support beams to level the cabin. A CleanSpace® vapor barrier on top of drainage matting to properly seal the dirt crawl space floor. Our ultra-dense TerraBlock™ foam insulation, as well as closed-cell spray foam, were applied to fully seal and regulate temperature in the space. These products work together to keep, cold air, moisture, and pests at bay.

These cabin owners no longer have to worry about uneven floors and structural issues. They were also given a solid solution to protect their cabin against wetness and moisture.

The owners of this boathouse in Barnes, WI noticed that it was sinking into the lake bed. The boathouse was grandfathered in, and they wanted to make sure that it could be passed down to future generations. They reached out to DBS after noticing signs promoting our foundation stabilization services around town.

Design Specialist James Miller met the owners at their property to conduct a free no-obligation estimate of the foundation issues. After a thorough inspection, James recommended our SmartJack® supports and helical piering systems.

Foreman Osia Williams led the installation of this project with help from a crew. Together they installed 6 helical piers and 2 SmartJack® supports with the main steel beam to permanently stabilize the boathouse.

Now that the boathouse has been permanently stabilized, the owners will be able to pass it down to future generations without worrying about it sinking into the lake.

Our client called DBS with the problem of the concrete in their garage. The corner of the garage was cracked and sinking, causing the corner to become separated from the garage. DBS solved their problem by using our PolyLevel service to lift and level their uneven exterior concrete and divert water away from the joints in the garage, to ensure that this would not happen again. We installed PolyLevel to fix the concrete and stabilize, lifting and making it level, then clean up the cracks and apply a joint sealant to maintain our services. 

These homeowners in Solon Springs, WI wanted to address the sagging floors in their home. Wanting peace of mind that the floors would not collapse, they reached out to DBS to find a solution.

Design Specialist Jake Gilmer assisted these homeowners in a free, no-obligation estimate. After a thorough inspection, it was decided that our SmartJack® Support System would be the best option.

Foreman Osia Williams led a team in the installation of this project. Together, the team installed multiple jacks in order to distribute the weight of the structure evenly. The jacks are then adjusted in order to lift the floor back to the original position and to provide stronger support.

These homeowners no longer need to fret about instability in their homes. 

This home in Solon Springs, WI had been in the family for nearly 50 years. The crawl space support beams were failing and the homeowner was in need of a permanent solution. They contacted DBS after learning about our crawl space support systems.

DBS Design Specialist Nathan Schroeder went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the foundation support work. Nathan saw failure of the existing support system and recommended installing SmartJack® stabilization beams to offer a permanent solution. This home was repaired by DBS Foreman Taylor Allen and his production crew.

This crawl space support system consisted of 38 feet of supplement steel beam, running parallel to the crawl space dirt floor. From there, they installed 9 SmartJack® telescoping support posts. To encapsulate the dirt crawl space, they installed a vapor barrier called CleanSpace®. This thick poly sheet is place on top of a drainage matting layer and will assist in keep the dirt floor free from moisture build-up.

Finally, our crew applied closed-cell spray foam to the rim joists in the crawl space to insulate and air seal the space. This will prevent cold air, pests, and water from entering the space. Ultimately, this will protect the foundation, and allow for a more energy efficient home.

This home can now be enjoyed without worry of further structural damage!
