This South Haven, MN cabin was built in the 1950s. The foundation has settled over time causing symptoms like uneven doors and windows, as well as bouncy floors on the main level. Looking for a permanent solution, the cabin owners reached out to DBS to schedule a free, no-obligation estimate for our crawl space repair service.
DBS Design Specialist Andy Bost is an expert in diagnosing structural issues in homes and cabins like this one. After completing a thorough inspection beneath the cabin, Andy designed a solution that would address the sinking and provide permanent support. Upon his inspection, he documented mold on many of the floor joists and prescribed our Mold-X Botanical treatment to rid the space of mold and add some protection to the beams going forward.
DBS Foreman Zach Jorenby led the installation of this project. A supplemental steel beam was installed as well as our SmartJack system to lift and stabilize the sinking floors. This family cabin is healthy, safe, and comfortable once again!

These homeowners in Canyon, MN reached out to DBS for help with encapsulating their crawlspace.
Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist, Henrik Makitalo went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. This home had an unfinished crawl space which allowed water to pool and mold to grow. The solution for the unwanted water was to install our CleanSpace® waterproofing barrier, insulate the rim joists with closed cell spray foam and seal off the crawl space. A DBS foreman and his production crew installed the products and encapsulated this crawl space.
This home is now healthy, safe, and comfortable!
Owners of this cabin in Canyon, MN wanted to winterize it for year-round use. Knowing the crawl space had not been attended to in years, they called DBS for a free, no-obligation for our expert crawl space encapsulation service.
DBS Sales Manager Jacob Nustad-Peluso was the Design Specialist for this crawl space project. After providing a thorough estimate, he created a plan to fully insulate the crawl space. This will in turn, dramatically increase energy savings and keep the space warmer throughout cold Minnesota winter weather. Foreman Nick Woods II and his insulation team installed both foam and spray foam to insulate the space.
The crew first began by removing all of the existing insulation and debris from the crawl space. SilverGlo™ rigid foam insulation was installed on the vertical wall of the crawl space. From there, our team installed closed-cell spray foam on the rim joists of the crawl space ceiling. This will air seal the crawl space, dramatically reducing the ability of cold air and water to enter the space.
