Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

Before reaching out to us, this homeowner in Robbinsdale, MN, was grappling with a damp and musty crawlspace that was negatively affecting their home environment. As you can see in the before photo, the area was in dire need of encapsulation. After a free, no-obligation inspection was scheduled by our Appointment Center, Design Specialist Nick went out to take a look. Understanding the importance of a dry and healthy crawlspace, our production team, led by Foreman Tate, stepped in and installed our CleanSpace© system. This homeowner contacted DBS after enduring a daily routine to bring their space heater upstairs just so they could warm the upstairs addition. They wanted proper insulation to alleviate this issue and finally have a warmer upstairs level.

Our Design Specialist visited the property and recommended a solution that involves a full installation of the attic.

When Kornell Green, our Foreman, and the crew went to the property, they installed 5 XL can light covers, air sealed and insulated the access points, baffles, and floors using our spray foam insulation. Once the spray foam insulation was complete, Kornell and the team secured the installation further by using our TruSoft Cellulose. Once the project was complete, the homeowner was very happy with the final result!

The owner of this home in Minneapolis, MN had issues with pools of water in their crawl space. Their pipes had frozen over many times, and they were becoming frustrated with the issue. In hopes of finding a solution, the homeowner reached out to DBS.

Design Specialist Henry Jungbaur went to the property to conduct a free no-obligation estimate. After a thorough inspection, Henry noticed that there was a lot of DIY plumbing work that was done underneath the home, and whoever did it had obviously not done any of it correctly. Foreman Nicholas Woods II led the installation of this project with help from a crew. Together the crew sprayed closed-cell polyurethane spray foam on the interior walls of the crawl space to air seal and insulate. Next, they created a better drainage field in the crawl space by leveling out the dirt in some areas and installed a SmartDrain® for water removal. Finally, they installed a layer of CleanSpace® water vapor barrier to complete the system.

Now that the crawl space has been encapsulated, the homeowner can relax with peace of mind knowing that their crawl space will stay warmer and drier.
