They also installed CleanSpace®, a thick, white poly sheet material, that will cover the area keeping it dry and protected.

James recommended applying closed-cell spray foam along the joists of this crawl space to seal off outdoor air. CleanSpace® waterproofing vapor barrier was applied along the floor and walls of the crawl space. This home was repaired by DBS Foreman Nick Woods and his production crew.

Together they installed dimpled drainage matting in the crawl space to help provide a water barrier that would help assist the flow of water without causing puddles. Then they laid panels of TerraBlock™ insulation over the drainage matting to prevent frost build-up. Finally, they finished the encapsulation by installing a layer of CleanSpace® water vapor barrier.

Now that the crawl space has been properly encapsulated, the homeowner will notice that their floors are much warmer and the musty smell has faded.
