The SmartJack® is a patented adjustable steel support post installed under sagging crawl space beams and girders. Unlike temporary shimming, wood blocking, or conventional concrete post repairs, SmartJack is a permanent engineered solution set in a poured concrete footing and designed to be adjusted over time.

What to Expect
1.
Free on-site inspection and estimate
A DBS Repair specialist enters the crawl space to assess beam deflection, identify failing support locations, and determine the number and placement of posts needed. A written estimate is presented at the visit.
2.
Footing excavation and concrete pour
At each post location, a hole is excavated into the crawl space soil and a concrete footing is poured to engineered specifications to provide a stable, load-bearing base.
3.
Post installation and beam engagement
The galvanized SmartJack post is set on the footing and the adjustable top plate is positioned under the sagging beam or girder at the correct height.
4.
Incremental lift
The post is slowly adjusted to begin lifting the beam back toward level. Lift is applied incrementally to avoid stress on finishes above, including drywall and finished flooring.
5.
Cleanup and warranty documentation
The crawl space is cleaned after installation, warranty documentation is issued, and future adjustment instructions are provided for homeowner reference.
