A homeowner in Duluth, MN was looking to have an updated window well for their basement waterproofing and finishing project. Our crew was able to go out and install a new egress window for the basement. Egress windows allow for more natural light and fresh air around the area, while also providing an exit point in case of emergency situations. Egress windows are ideal for anyone looking to add on to or finish their basement.
A homeowner in Duluth, MN Had a fully finished basement that they wanted to make usable again after water had been leaking into it. This was an issue that they addressed with DBS and our Design Specialist Rich met with them to diagnose the issue and offer a solution. It was determined that our team would install WaterGuard® along the perimeter of the basement where the water had been leaking. Afterward, they would refinish the existing drywall with EverLast® Wall Restoration. EverLast® is comprised of mold, moisture, and mildew-resistant material that is a perfect addition to any basement waterproofing system. The results of the project can be seen here.
This Duluth resident had cracks in their walls that were allowing water to seep into the basement. With the addition of a new drain tile and our CleanSpace wall matting we direct water down the wall and eventually into the sump pump where it is extracted from the home. This method provides the customer with a clean white wall and drains water out of the basement that could have otherwise caused further moisture or even flooding. In addition to the waterproofing, the black CarbonArmor strap seen on the right side of the wall is put in place to maintain the wall and prevent it from shifting further in the future. The combination of these options allows us the opportunity to stabilize the wall while effectively waterproofing the affected area.
The carpet that was previously installed in this basement had to be removed due to moisture concerns. The homeowner still wanted to have carpet in their basement but did not want to repeat their mistake. Thankfully DBS Residential Solutions offers a carpeting product that is completely inorganic and resistant to mold, moisture, and mildew so it provides a much more safe and permanent option for the basement.
This basement was sectioned into perfectly sized rooms for bedrooms, play areas, and family spaces but the previous carpet had taken on moisture and was no longer creating a pleasant space. The homeowner wanted an option that worked for her basement while still being comfortable and pleasing to the eye. DBS Residential Solutions was able to provide a carpet solution for the homeowner that would withstand the often wet conditions of a basement without becoming musty and moldy. The solution also went quite well with the rooms the homeowner had already created. Here we see our solution fitting well around an existing fireplace.
