Basement Finishing Before & After Photos

The carpet that was previously installed in this basement had to be removed due to moisture concerns. The homeowner still wanted to have carpet in their basement but did not want to repeat their mistake. Thankfully DBS Residential Solutions offers a carpeting product that is completely inorganic and resistant to mold, moisture, and mildew so it provides a much more safe and permanent option for the basement. 

This basement was sectioned into perfectly sized rooms for bedrooms, play areas, and family spaces but the previous carpet had taken on moisture and was no longer creating a pleasant space. The homeowner wanted an option that worked for her basement while still being comfortable and pleasing to the eye. DBS Residential Solutions was able to provide a carpet solution for the homeowner that would withstand the often wet conditions of a basement without becoming musty and moldy. The solution also went quite well with the rooms the homeowner had already created. Here we see our solution fitting well around an existing fireplace. 

After we had stabilized the foundation it was time to waterproof the walls so that the homeowner would no longer have to deal with water coming in their basement and causing issues with the finished area they had created. With the new drain tile installed around the perimeter of the space we installed our CleanSpace wall poly from the top of the wall leading into the drain tile. This helps direct any water along this course which eventually leads to the new sump pump which directs the water out of the home. 

When basements flood it is often caused by the water that gathers around the base of the home finding a path of least resistance directly into the home. In order to reduce the amount of water gathering around the base of the home we give it a better path to follow. Having a drain tile installed in this home helps to direct water that could potentially enter from under and around the home into the drain tile which leads to the sump pump that carries the water away from the home. Our typical waterproofing system is installed with our CleanSpace wall poly which helps with the additional water that finds its way in through the walls. Our system allows that water to pass through the walls and then directs it into the drain tile. When a complete perimeter system is in place the homeowner will no longer have to worry about water entering from the base and walls of the home.
