Homeowners of this 1960's Superior, WI home noticed issues with their basement walls upon moving in. They were seeing continuous movement, worsening lately and were concerned that the walls would cave in. In search of a permanent solution, they met DBS at the Duluth Home Show and reached out to us to schedule a free, no-obligation estimate.
A DBS Design Specialist visited the home to provide a thorough inspection and estimate for the foundation support. It was determined that significant support was needed and our PowerBrace™ Wall Support system was the best option. A DBS foreman and crew installed 12 PowerBrace™ steel I-beams total, as well as a new SuperSump® Premier Pump System to diret all water up and out of the basement.
Because the walls were bowing significantly, our crews needed to excavate soil on the outside of the home to restore the walls to their original position. The crew applied SentrySeal® and TerraBlock™ to give extra insulation and provide a waterproofing layer on the exterior wall.
The installation was successful and provided a solid solution to the leaking water and foundation cracks!
This homeowner had previously had waterproofing and GeoLock™ Wall Anchors installed by DBS and was looking to install Silver Glo Foam vertically up against the exterior wall and install a buried discharge line for the sump pump.
DBS Foreman, Osia Williams, and his Co-Foreman, Rowan Wentworth, worked hard to complete the job. They excavated around the house and the previously installed GeoLocks™, installed the Silver Glo Foam along the walls, and backfilled with sand and the dirt they excavated earlier. After they backfilled they installed the sump pump discharge line.
These homeowners in Superior, Wisconsin reached out to DBS for help making their failing basement foundation walls stable.
DBS Design Specialist Rich Johnsen went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. After inspecting the home, Rich recommended installing PowerBrace™ wall support beams to permanently stabilize the failing foundation walls. PowerBrace™ wall support beams are installed with a 75-year nationally backed warranty. They immediately stabilize failing walls and over time are tightened in an attempt to bring bowing walls back to level. This progress is benchmarked during annual maintenance appointments.
Foreman Zach Royer and his production crew worked hard to install the PowerBrace™ beams and keep this home stable.
The homeowner of this property was in the process of gutting the basement for a renovation project when they discovered large cracks running from the top to the bottom of the basement walls. Concerned about the structural integrity of their foundation, they contacted DBS in hopes of finding a solution.
Design Specialist James Miller visited their property to conduct a free no-obligation estimate of the issue at hand. James informed the homeowner that the foundation was failing, and DBS's PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System would permanently stabilize the walls.
Foreman Osia Williams led the installation for this project along with his team, and together they installed 6 PowerBrace™ I-beams. After a successful installation, the foundation of this home is now stabilized for years to come.
The homeowner is finally able to go about renovating the basement without worry that the walls are going to fail, and have peace of mind knowing that no additional cracking will occur.
