DBS received a call that required foundation and crawl space repair. The household required several services. First, excavate the home. Then, put a layer of our waterproofing materials, and then put exterior drainage around the entire home. The drainage would ultimately lead away from the home after this long process of hard work, but DBS is always up for the job. We’ve included a photo of the home before we began the production process, followed by the excavation of the home to get a better idea of the work that DBS did for our clients.

A homeowner in Paynesville, MN was experiencing issues with the crawl space of their home. The area was comprised of wood posts and cinder blocks to help support it, and over time, it began to settle and caused the floor above to sag. The owner was curious as to what DBS could offer for a solution, so we had a Design Specialist visit and give a free, no-obligation estimate for the crawl space repair. The owner of this office building in Ely, MN had noticed instability in the floors. They were worried the floors would cave, so the owner reached out to DBS to help with this unfortunate situation.

Design Specialist Zach Guilliams assisted the owner with a free, no-obligation estimate. After a careful inspection, our SmartJack® Support System was recommended and a quote was provided. 

Foreman Osia Williams led the installation of this project with help from Rowan Wentworth. The team was able to successfully install this DBS solution. Our jack solution is able to fully support the structure and can be adjusted in order to lift and level the floors.

This Ely, MN home was significantly sinking on one end of the home. This caused settling in the foundation, creating cracks in the basement floor and allowing water to reach the home. Worried about the issue getting worse, they reached out to DBS for a permanent solution. 

DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo is an expert in foundation repair. After visiting the home and providing a free, no-obligation estimate for the work done, Henrik determined that the home needed assistance from our structural, waterproofing, and concrete repair teams. 

First, our Basement Repair Production Manager Kevin Steffey and his crew excavated the exterior of the home in order to perform a lift procedure. Our team installed 32 push piers total at the base of the home on the exterior and interior of the home. These galvanized steel piers were then hydraulicaly driven into the ground to weight-bearing soils. The weight of the home was then transferred to the competent soil.

After this was completed, our team was tasked with protecting the outside of the home against water and condensation with SentrySeal® rubber membrane. On the home's interior, our concrete repair production crew was able to work through specific areas targeted by Henrik that needed to be raised and leveled. 

The homeowners were happy with the work done and can now depend on a safe and comfortable home for years to come.
