When a new homeowner in Finland, MN decided to transform her cabin into a cozy, year-round getaway, we stepped in to address the damp, underused crawl space. As shown in the before photo, it was an area in desperate need of improvement. We tackled the issue by installing CleanSpace® to encapsulate and protect the space, SmartJack® for stable, dependable support, and SaniDry™ Sedona to maintain dry, healthy air quality. Additionally, the SmartSump™ crawl space drainage system, with its low profile, was the perfect solution for tight spaces, making installation easier.
We've successfully converted what was once a troublesome area into a cornerstone of comfort and durability. In the after photo, you can see how these solutions work together effortlessly, not only boosting the home’s value but also ensuring it's a comfortable retreat all year round.
These homeowners from Cloquet, MN reached out to DBS for help preventing pipes from freezing in their Crawl Space.
DBS Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. After inspecting the Crawl Space, Henry recommended applying closed-cell spray foam insulation to the cinder block foundation under the home. Closed-cell spray foam is a permanent solution for stopping outdoor air from entering a home and works great in Crawl Spaces like this one. Each home is different, so what works well in your neighbors home may be a different solution than yours.
DBS Foreman Nick Woods and his production team worked hard to install the insulation.
This home is now protected from outdoor air and is protected against pipes freezing during cold winter months.
Before, this Cloquet apartment building struggled with uneven temperatures, relying heavily on air conditioning year-round due to heat escaping from pipes, as the before photo reveals. Thanks to our SprayFoam insulation upgrade, you can see in the after snapshot a transformed building designed for maximum efficiency. Now, the residents enjoy a consistent, comfortable climate without excessive AC use—highlighting our commitment to delivering durable solutions that significantly enhance the living environment.
These homeowners in Cloquet, MN wanted to find a solution to fix their leaking basement. They were concerned about mold growing from the water damage, so they reached out to DBS for help.
Design Specialist Jake Gilmer assisted the owners with a free, no-obligation estimate. After a careful inspection, Jake recommended our WaterGuard® French Drain System and CleanSpace® Moisture Barrier and provided the owners with a quote.
Foreman Glenn Olcott completed this project with help from a team. These drain lines are placed within trenches around the perimeter of the basement and are able to collect intruding water in the basement. Then the water is transported to a sump pump where it is removed from the home. The moisture barrier is then applied to the walls to keep the space dry and moisture free.
These homeowners can now rely on their healthy, dry basement!

Notice in the after photo how CleanSpace® encapsulation provides a cleaner, more insulated space, directly combating those cold floors to ensure warmer, more enjoyable kitchen experiences.
