DBS Design Specialist Rich Johnsen is an expert in basement waterproofing and visited the home to provide a thorough inspection. It was determined that drain tile would be installed as well as a new sump pump to protect the basement against water intrusion.

DBS Foreman Dustin Behning and his crew worked on the interior waterproofing job. The crew began by breaking out concrete to create a trench around the home's footing. Our WaterGuard® drain system was put into place and will effectively capture wall and floor seepage, directing it to a new UltraSump™ sump pump with battery back-up. CleanSpace®, a thick, white poly sheet material was then installed to direct any water leaking from the walls into the drain system below.  CleanSpace® makes an excellent covering for basement foundation walls. The crew finished the job by burying the discharge line in the lawn away from the home.

This system contains 3 pumps; the first can handle up to 2,600 gallons of water an hour, the second pump kicks in during periods of heavy rainfall to pump a total of 6,200 gallons of water, and the third pump comes on with a battery back-up in the case of a power outage.
