This home was built in 1927 and had been in the owner's family since the 1940's. They noticed a slight issue with moisture in the basement but could tell it was definitely worsening and reached out to DBS for help with a permanent solution.
DBS Design Specialist Rich Johnsen went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. After inspecting the home, we recommended installing CleanSpace®, a vapor barrier that will direct water into a new WaterGuard® drainage system. This two products will lead water into a SuperSump® pump and out of the home.
DBS Production Manager Kevin Steffey was the foreman on the job. He and his production crew successfully installed these products along the perimeter of the basement, creating a dry and comfortable home to put the homeowners at ease!
This Duluth, MN homeowner has lived in their home since 1978 and first noticed issues with their Park Point basement around 20 years ago. The basement would take on water from time to time but now the problem has worsened rendering the space unusable. With rising the rising water table and presence of the harmless, yet pesky iron ochre bacteria, Park Point basements have a tall order in keeping themselves dry.
DBS Design Specialist Rich Johnsen is an expert in basement waterproofing. He visited the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the waterproofing project, using our WaterGuard® Iron Ochre system.
Foreman Zach Royer and his production team first installed drainage matting with aggregate rock to rasie the floor a few inches and to offer ground water proper drainage. They then dug and installed the drainage system along the perimeter of the basement. This drain is meant to be exposed so that is can be easily cleaned of iron ochre build-up. CleanSpace® Wall Poly was installed on the walls and everything now flows to a TripleSafe™ Sump Pump.
Sump pumps need regular maintenance, just like a car needs regular oil changes. Especially when iron ochre is present in your water, the build-up needs to be properly cleaned or it will clog the pump system, causing water to flood in the basement. DBS has a dedicated service team that services sump pumps and waterproofing system to find any problems before they find you.
These homeowners in Plymouth, MN reached out to DBS for help keeping their basement dry. Their existing sump pump was not functioning properly, causing it to run constanly, and emit a musty odor into the air.
DBS Design Specialist, Rich Johnsen, went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. After inspecting the home, Rich recommended installing a new discharge line to carry water to the exterior of the home, as well as a new UltraSump™ sump pump. The UltraSump™ 4 removes up to 12,000 gallons of water on a single charge, keeping your home dry and protected until you're able to get your primary pump running again.
We also installed our SaniDry™ XP dehumidifcation system that filters musty basement air, and directs the moisture to the new sump pump. These systems work together to collect and remove water in leaky basements. This home was repaired by DBS Foreman Zach Jorenby, and his production crew.
This home is now healthy, safe, and comfortable!
After receiving a referral from another contractor, this homeowner reached out about the water issues in the basement of their 1940's home.
Waterproofing Design Specialist Rich Johnsen visited the home for a free, no-obligation estimate for our waterproofing service. He determined that a french drain system with sump pump was needed to keep this basement dry. A DBS Foreman and crew installed this system including our WaterGuard® system, designed to capture water seepage through walls and leaks along the wall and floor joint. This drain system effectively captures wall and floor seepage before it reaches your basement floor. Water enters the system via inlet holes and flows through the drainage pipe to the home's sump pump.
This homeowner now has a functional, dry recreation and storage space for the family to enjoy.
A Hoyt Lakes, MN homeowner moved into this home in 2018. They noticed issues with the foundation's ability to keep out water - it was leaking from cracks in the foundation on three sides. After doing some research on our website, they decided to tackle their water troubles with DBS.
Our Design Specialist Rich Johnsen visited the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the homeowner's project. It was determined that both waterproofing and foundation support systems were needed to provide a permanent solution going forward.
DBS Foreman Taylor Allen and crew worked on the basement waterproofing job. The crew began by breaking out concrete to create a trench around the home's footing. Our WaterGuard® drain system was put into place and will effectively capture wall and floor seepage, directing it to a new TripleSafe™ sump pump. The crew finished the job by burying the discharge line in the lawn, direction water away from the home.
DBS Foreman Nick Burley and his production crew then performed the foundation support work. They installed a PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System, attaching steel I-beams to the concrete floor and the basement rim joists. This PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System, is meant to support walls from further movement and can be tightened over time, in order to restore the walls to their original position. The PowerBrace™ beams are zinc-plated and backed with a 75-year warranty against movement.
This homeowner can now rest easy knowing their home is protected going forward.
