A Gilbert, MN homeowner was in need of a solution to curb high energy bills. They were using a whopping 400 gallons of propane monthly to heat their home throughout the winter. In order to gain insight on a more sustainable solution for year-round living, they contacted DBS.
Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer visited the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for our insulation services. Henry determined that adding our Tru-Soft™ cellulose would provide tremendous support in the home's radiant barrier.
Foreman Orrin Sundberg and his crew production crew drilled holes into the drywall in several areas throughout the home to prep for dense packing. Once the insulation was blown into place, our crews add a temporary patch to be replaced with a more permanent wall patch by the homeowner.
Tru-Soft™ cellulose insulation is fire-resistant and has an R-value much higher than fiberglass, and most rigid foam insulations. This homeowner was thrilled with the work done to improve conditions in their home and lower their sky-high heating bills.
Homeowners in Duluth, MN built a garage on their property that they were in the process of finishing. In order to comfortably use that space year-round, they contacted DBS to learn more about our Dr. Energy Saver® insulation services.
DBS Design Specialist Jacob Nustad-Peluso visited the homeowners and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the insulation work. After a thorough inspection, he recommended both spray foam and our Tru-Soft™ cellulose insluation to provide a sufficient radiant barrier in the garage attic.
Our production crew was lead by Foreman Orrin Sundberg. They installed 3 inches of closed-cell spray foam to air seal and insulate the attic space, focusing on the floor joints and space beneath the roof deck. Spray foam expands after its applied, reaching tight spaces and filling gaps and preventing air from passing through. The crew also installed 18 inches of Tru-Soft™ cellulose to provide a high R-value.
These homeowners were happy with the work done and can now enjoy a comfortable garage space year-round!
Homeowners in Duluth, MN were looking for an insulation solution for the upper level of their house. Part unsealed attic, part living space, they knew that proper insulation would be more comfort and lower heating and cooling bills.
Our Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist Jacob Nustad-Peluso went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for this family. After inspecting the property and conducting an energy audit, it was determined that spray foam insulatio and blown-in insulation in the attic were necessary to effectively insulate the space.
DBS Foreman Orrin Sundberg and his crew first completely air sealed the space with ZypFoam, concentrating on gaps in the building material and spaces surrounding the attic ducts. From there, they applied 1 inch of spray foam to the roof deck. They then used our TruSoft™ cellulose, covering the roof deck in 18-inches of soft, yet dense insulation. TruSoft™ has a higher R-value than fiberglass and other cellulose materials, perfect for use in our northern climate.
The homeowners were happy with the work done and can now enjoy comfortable temperatures throughout their home this winter.

Our Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist Jacob Nustad-Peluso visited the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the insulation work. Foreman Orrin Sundberg and his production crew first removed old fireglass batting and insulation.
