These homeowners in Eveleth, MN reached out to DBS for help insulating the piping system in their home. During the winter multiple pipes were freezing which resulted in water damage and stress for the homeowner. They wanted a permanent home performance solution when they reached out to DBS.
A DBS Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. After inspecting the home and performing infrared heat measuring tests it was concluded that the walls did not have proper insulation. DBS has a solution called dense-packed insulation which does not require drywall removal and dramatically increases the efficiency of the home. Small 1-inch ports are cut into the home and Tru-Soft™ cellulose insulation is applied inside the walls. After the insulation is installed the holes are covered with siding and are completely hidden! This home was repaired by DBS Foreman Orrin Sundberg and his production crew.
This home is now healthy, safe, and comfortable with safe pipes all year round!
This Solon Springs, WI homeowner reached out to DBS for curbing the cost of their heating bills. They mentioned specifically outer walls and doors as especially drafty.
Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. Energy loss was measured across the trouble areas and the solution Henrik determined was closed cell spray foam along the home's entrance. A DBS foreman and their production crew installed the spray foam and the homeowner plans to cover the areas in paneling.
This home is now healthy, comfortable, and more energy-efficient!
This Duluth, MN home had fiberglass batting in the attic that was proving ineffective in insulating the home. Looking to prevent ice dams in the winter and reduce heating bills, the homeowners reached out to DBS for a permanent solution.
A Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. After inspecting the property and conducting an energy audit, it was determined that proper air sealing and rigid foam insulation were necessary to effectively seal the space.
Our production crew first sealed the gaps in building material and spaces surrounding the attic ducts with ZypFoam™. They then laid down TerraBlock™, our foam insulation that is infused with graphite for a higher R-value.
Sealing the attic was key to prevent warm air from escaping the home, and improving the overall energy health of the space.
This Cloquet, MN home had very little materials insulting the attic. In turn, this was affecting the family's ability to keep the home consistently heated in the wintertime. Looking for a permanent solution, the homeowners reached out to DBS about our energy saving services.
