A home in Bruce, WI was experiencing issues with the support beams in their basement. The original wood beams were starting to fail, causing sagging floors which could lead to further structural damage. In need of a solution, the homeowner had a DBS Design Specialist come out and provide a free, no-obligation estimate for the service. It was determined that the basement would need to have the original beams replaced by SmartJack® XL units. These galvanized steel jacks are made to support very heavy loads and structures, making them optimal for foundation support.
The basement of this Winter, MN home had wooden foundation walls that were suffering under the pressure of the backfill on the other side of the walls. This finished basement room was not an overly large room and the owner wanted to maintain as much usable square footage as possible. Fortunately, our wall anchors fit tightly to the wall and can be covered or finished over when tightened to where they need to be. This solution stabilized the foundation without creating a mess or a cumbersome eyesore for the room.
Homeowners in Winter, WI had been living in this home for 15 years when they decided they wanted to renovate it. First, they wanted to stabilize the foundation to ensure that any structural issues were fixed before investing in upgrades to the home.
Aftering reaching out to DBS, Design Specialist James Miller visited the home for a free, no-obligation estimate for the foundation work. He proposed our PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System to permanently stabilize and restore the cracked and bowing walls.
DBS Foreman Zach Jorenby and his crew first excavated the soil on the exterior of the home to set the stage for a wall straightening procedure. From there, they installed an exterior waterproofing membrane to the outside of the home for added protection against water. Then they installed 7 PowerBrace I-beams, connecting them to the basement's concrete floor and ceiling joists. These beams will be tightened overtime by our service department with the goal of restoring the wall to its original position.
The homeowners we happy with the work done and can now begin their plans to renovate their home!
Homeowners from Winter, Wisconsin reached out to DBS for help stabilizing their cracked and bowing crawl space walls. Increasing soil pressure was causing structural damage that was getting worse each year. DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work.
Henrik found that soil pressure increasing over time caused cracking and bowing on the foundation walls. This was allowing water and cold air to enter the crawl space and circulate throughout the entire home. The solution was to install Supportworks® PowerBrace™ wall support I beams to permanently stabilize and prevent future wall damage.
This home was repaired by DBS Foreman Nick Burley and his production crew. DBS installs PowerBrace™ support beams with a 75-year nationally-backed warranty! Fix it right with DBS the first time and never worry again.
