DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate. It was determined that a lift procedure was needed to address foundation settlement, as well as some supplemental support. Zach Royer and his production crew installed a 14-ft support beam beneath the home and then drove 2 HelixPro® piers into the ground to support the structure. These piers are driven through the soil, down to the strata layer of rock, providing solid support to the home.

Owners of this 1876 home in Duluth, MN were concerned over worsening conditions with the home's block foundation. Individual blocks were shifting measurably, leaving cracks and gaps that left the crawl space prone to wetness and mold. DBS Foreman Jose Valenzuela and his crew removed foundation blocks where they were no longer supporting the home. They installed 18 feet of additional support beams and underneath the home and supplemented that with 4 helical piers. To finish the job, they added our SilverGlo™ insulation topped with gravel as frost protection, preventing heaving to the foundation footings as the ground freezes during winter months.

Our WaterGuard® drain system was put into place and will effectively capture wall and floor seepage, directing it to the home's existing sump pump.

DBS Foreman Zach Royer and his production crew then performed the foundation support work. They installed a PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System, attaching steel I-beams to the concrete floor and the basement rim joists. This PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System, is meant to support walls from further movement and can be tightened over time, in order to restore the walls to their original position. The PowerBrace™ beams are zinc-plated and backed with a 75-year warranty against movement. Additionally, they installed 3 GeoLock™ earth anchors were recommended to stabilize the failing partially underground walls.

Homeowners of a 1960's home in Kettle River, MN contacted DBS in need of a permanent solution for their garage foundation. As seen in the before photo, the foundation was cracking and shifting, causing issues for the concrete slab below it and the structural integrity of the entire building.

Foreman Nick Burley and his crew installed 4 GeoLock™ Wall Plates and Earth Anchors to the failing foundation wall. This system uses heavy-duty anchors and connects them to plates on the wall interior wall. Connected with long, galvanized rods, these anchors are tightened to straighten the wall over time and provide maximum support. 

Our concrete repair crew applied a sealant to the concrete garage slab, as well as NexusPro™, a silicone product that expands to fill and seal cracks.
