The foundation walls in this Eveleth, MN home had bowed over time. The owner was getting ready to sell the house and knew he needed to get this fixed prior to a home inspection. He called DBS and Royce Bunn, design specialist, came out to provide the homeowner with an estimate to permanently fix the bowing wall.  The DBS installation crew was able to install 10 PowerBraces to permanently stabilize this home's foundation wall. 

This Eveleth, MN homeowner was in the process of remodeling his basement when he noticed some cracking in his foundation wall. He called DBS as he wanted an expert to come out and check out his foundation wall. System Design Specialist, Rich Johnsen made a visit to this home. Upon inspection, he found that the east foundation wall needed some additional support to stabilize the wall. He concluded that the best way to do this would be through the use of our PowerBrace system. The homeowner was relieved that there was a sure fix to this problem. This recently purchased cabin in Eveleth, MN was in need of some structural support. Its dirt crawl space was causing moisture issues as well a musty smell in the main living space. Because the cabin is not used year-round, they wanted to protect it as much as possible against moisture and fluctuating weather even when they aren't there. Design Specialist Rich Johnsen visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate. Foreman Nick Burley and his production crew installed 8 SmartJack support beams to level the cabin. A CleanSpace® vapor barrier on top of drainage matting to properly seal the dirt crawl space floor. Our ultra-dense TerraBlock™ foam insulation, as well as closed-cell spray foam, were applied to fully seal and regulate temperature in the space. These products work together to keep, cold air, moisture, and pests at bay.

These cabin owners no longer have to worry about uneven floors and structural issues. They were also given a solid solution to protect their cabin against wetness and moisture.

This log construction cabin has been in the family since it was first built. Changes in the soil with freezing and thawing throughout the years have caused significant settling in the structure. DBS Foreman Zach Royer and his crew installed 10 push piers around the perimeter, completing a lift procedure of the sinking structure. They also added supplemental beams and a SmartJack® System to support the floor joists beneath the cabin.
