This home in Holyoke, MN was facing some serious crawl space issues. Mice and critters were getting in, drain lines were freezing, and there was penetration in the floor system. They wanted a permanent, professional solution, so they turned to DBS for help.
Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer assisted this homeowner in a free, no-obligation estimate. After a careful inspection, Henry recommended that the homeowner fully encapsulate the crawl space to insulate, waterproof, and cover the space.
Foreman Nicholas Woods II led a team in the installation of this big project. Together, the team installed TerraBlock™ bottom crawl space insulation to stop any coldness coming from the soil and rising into the home. They also installed drainage matting to prevent more water intrusion in the space. Finally, they used CleanSpace® to create a smooth finish so that the space is able to be used for storage.

Homeowners of an 1890's home in Deer River, MN had a dirt crawl space that was prone to wetness. It had failing insulation causing temperature and humidity fluctuations in the rest of their home, as well as cold floors during winter months. To learn more about what steps were needed to seal their crawl space, they reached out to us about our Dr. Energy Saver services.
A Design Specialist trained in energy-saving solutions, visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate. It was recommended that a CleanSpace® vapor barrier be laid over drainage matting. These two products work together to direct water away from the crawl space into a new SuperSump® Premier Pump System. To further prevent moisture and the growth of mold, TerraBlock™ insulation and closed-cell spray foam were installed to fully seal and regulate temperature in the space.
The DBS Foreman and production crew installed these products resulting in a great improvement of this home's overall health.
The owners of this cabin in Deer River, MN had recently purchased the property. They intended on doing major work on the structure before spending time there with kids and grandchildren as they were worried about the safety of the cabin. Looking for a solution, the owners reached out to DBS.
Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo went out to the property to conduct a free no-obligation estimate. Henrik advised the owners that the cabin was experiencing severe foundation issues along with energy efficiency issues. He quoted them for both foundation repair work and crawl space encapsulation and the owners hired DBS to do both sets of work.
Foreman Nick Woods II led the installation for the projects. With the help of a crew, they installed several SmartJack® supports, helical piers, and PowerBrace™ support systems to permanently stabilize the foundation of the cabin. Then, the crew moved on to the crawl space encapsulation portion of the project. They covered the ground with CleanSpace®, a thick, white poly vapor barrier material to waterproof the crawl space. After installing the CleanSpace® material, the crew air-sealed the space with closed-cell polyurethane spray foam.
Now that the cabin has been permanently stabilized and the crawl space has been encapsulated, the owners will be able to go about remodeling so that they are able to spend time with their families in their new retreat.
DBS received a call that a home was cold and the homeowners said it was from a wet, cold crawl space. The homeowners said that it was dirty and needed an upgrade, so DBS went to see what a solution was. We saw that the crawl space needed an updated sump pump, so we installed our SuperSump® Premier Pump System, and we also installed some insulation foaming, as well as a drainage mat to make sure the water coming inside, was going back outside. Our final touch was to add a mat on the ground to finish the crawl space, keep dirt away from all these products, and create a clean atmosphere.
