This Britt, MN home was built in 2005 but unfortunately, the foundation walls in the basement were beginning to crack. Over time, soil pressure had caused its foundation walls to crack and bow. The homeowners lived in the space for about 4 years before discovering the issue when water began to leak in from the cracked and bowed block walls.
DBS Design Specialist Nathan Schroeder went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation inspection and estimate for the work. After visiting the home, Nathan recommended the installation of a waterproofing and foundation repair system to fully protect the home.

DBS Foreman Taylor Allen and his crew installed the full waterproofing system in this basement. It consists of a CleanSpace® vapor barrier to stop water and a WaterGuard® subfloor french drainage system to drain water. These two products connect to a new SingleSafe™ sump pump that will keep water out of the home for good.
DBS Foreman Nick Burley and crew installed 4 PowerBrace™ wall support beams to stabilize the walls and prevent any further movement. These galvanized steel I-beams will be tightened over time with the goal of restoring the wall to its original position.

The owner of this home in Keewatin, MN was becoming frustrated after tireless attempts at trying to maintain a dry basement. During the rainy season, water would seep through cracks in the basement wall, causing damage to the paint and on the basement floor. In hopes of finding a proper waterproofing solution, the homeowner called DBS.
Design Specialist James Miller went to the property to conduct a free no-obligation estimate for the homeowner. After a thorough inspection, James determined a solution that would help resolve the issue. James explained DBS's WaterGuard® drainage system solution to the owner and advised them that it would help direct water into a SingleSafe™ sump pump that would expel water up and away from the foundation.
A DBS Foreman led the installation of this project. With the help of a crew, they installed the SingleSafe™ sump pump and WaterGuard® system. The WaterGuard® system is installed by jackhammering trenches along the perimeter of the basement and placing the drains into the trenches. The drains are positioned so that they empty into the SingleSafe™ sump pump and are then covered with cement for a seamless finish. The WaterGuard® drains will help collect water running down basement walls.
Now that the basement has been properly waterproofed, the owner can now relax more comfortably in their home knowing that their basement is dry and promoting a healthier and safer environment.
The windows in this basement were not idea for this situation. They allowed water to leak into the basement and their low insulation rating made then house much less efficient.
