This home sat on top of a crawl space that had been sectioned off by concrete blocks. When we encapsulated this crawl space we knew that the areas with an interior foundation wall would not require additional insulation so we were able to seal our CleanSpace matting directly to the interior foundation wall. The matting we used gives the crawl space a very clean look while creating an environment that is no longer musty.

DBS received a call that a home was cold and the homeowners said it was from a wet, cold crawl space. The homeowners said that it was dirty and needed an upgrade, so DBS went to see what a solution was. We saw that the crawl space needed an updated sump pump, so we installed our SuperSump® Premier Pump System, and we also installed some insulation foaming, as well as a drainage mat to make sure the water coming inside, was going back outside. Our final touch was to add a mat on the ground to finish the crawl space, keep dirt away from all these products, and create a clean atmosphere.

A homeowner in Two Harbors, MN recently reached out to DBS regarding many different areas of their home in need of repairs. The foundation was in need of lifting, for it had settled in the ground due to poor stabilization. Aside from that, the crawlspace of the home would need to have some serious debris removed, in order for better structural support to be installed, along with a waterproofing system. Lastly, the garage structure would also need to be lifted for piers to be installed. This was a lot of ground to cover for the DBS team, but nevertheless, the crew was up for the task. Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the home, and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for all of the services. A homeowner in Silver Bay, MN was experiencing several issues with their basement that needed to be addressed. the home had a failing foundation that could end up causing further structural damage, and it was allowing water to enter the home and cause basement flooding. Basement flooding is a common result of a poor home foundation, so often times the services of waterproofing and foundation repair will be combined. The first step for the crew, in this case, was to properly excavate the outer area of the foundation in order to install the foundation product GeoLock®. The GeoLock® system is comprised of galvanized steel anchors that are embedded into the excavated area, then attached by a steel rod to a separate anchor pulling on the interior portion of the foundation wall. The GeoLock® system can be used to seize further bowing movements of a foundation wall, and can even work to pull it back to its original positioning. After the foundation repair, the crew would install exterior drainage from the basement to ensure no further flooding within the area. The overall results of the project turned out great, and the homeowner can now be more comfortable with an updated basement system.

We recently undertook a distinctive basement waterproofing project in Finland, MN, for a rental property owner based in the cities. The tenant had been struggling with severe basement flooding, making the space unusable. Recognizing the urgency of providing a safe and dry environment, the homeowner reached out to us for assistance.
We quickly arranged an appointment and dispatched our System Design Specialist to evaluate the situation. The thorough inspection revealed the need for a robust waterproofing solution to safeguard the basement from further flooding and moisture damage, especially considering the heavy snowmelt typical in the area.
To tackle these challenges, we recommended installing our advanced WaterGuard® and IceGuard® systems, along with a DoubleSafe™ Sump Pump. The WaterGuard® system effectively channels water into the sump pump, preventing it from pooling in the basement. The IceGuard® system ensures the discharge line remains free of ice during the cold months, which is essential in Minnesota's frosty climate. The DoubleSafe™ Sump Pump provides triple protection with its capacity to handle large volumes of water and includes a backup pump to keep the basement dry even during power outages.
Our production team efficiently installed these systems, maintaining the property’s aesthetics and leaving the basement cleaner than we found it. After the installation, the tenant immediately experienced a significant improvement—a dry, usable basement free from flooding and moisture damage. It was gratifying to hear that we had not only resolved the issue but also provided peace of mind for both the tenant and the property owner, who felt reassured knowing their investment was protected against future water problems.
Recently, we at DBS had the privilege of working with a homeowner in Silver Bay, MN, who was determined not to let their garage fall into disrepair—a sentiment we deeply understand and respect. Much like any other home, maintenance is vital, and our client was proactive in seeking a solution to their concrete issues sooner rather than later. After contacting our Customer Care team, the homeowner quickly had an appointment set up with one of our System Design Specialists. Upon inspection, it was evident that settling concrete was threatening the integrity and safety of the garage space. To tackle this, we recommended our PolyLevel® and NexusPro® products—robust solutions designed not just to patch up the problem but to provide a durable, long-term fix. PolyLevel®, an innovative foam injection solution, was used to level the settled concrete, ensuring it returned to its proper position and stability. Meanwhile, NexusPro® was utilized to seal cracks and joints impeccably, protecting the area from further damage, water intrusion, and wear. The outcome was just as we’d promised: not only did we address the immediate concerns of sinking and cracking concrete, but we also gave the homeowner peace of mind, knowing their garage was standing solidly again. It left the property looking great, without the eyesore of uneven floors or worrying cracks, ready to stand the test of time. This project exemplifies our mission to provide reliable, long-lasting solutions, ensuring satisfaction and potentially saving homeowners from more extensive repairs down the road. At DBS, our goal is always to leave a home better than we found it, ensuring every job is a clear reflection of our dedication to excellence in home repair.
