Our metro team completed this challenging but successful residential foundation repair project in Eden Prairie. During the sales process, the customer expressed concern about potential damage to his existing rock retaining wall, particularly on the North side where equipment needed entry. Despite these challenges, our crew managed to carefully navigate the mini excavator to the bottom of the retaining wall.
The main focus was on addressing non-functional windows due to foundation settlement and achieving lift and level procedures. Unfortunately, due to the window issues, achieving a completely level floor proved challenging. However, in collaboration with the customer, a satisfactory compromise was reached – the windows were made functional, and the back corner of the floor was deliberately set 1/4” lower than the rest.
The customer responded was happy with the outcome and responded to a post project survey saying: "Excellent communication, quality work, very satisfied with everything." Special acknowledgment was given to Tate and Brice for their patience, politeness, and skill. Working with Jason was described as a pleasant experience, commending his prompt responsiveness and thorough explanations of all job aspects. The customer found the pricing fair and reasonable, expressing a high likelihood of recommending DBS to friends or neighbors.
Our team tackled a challenging project at the old school center, where the floor was experiencing frost heaving and settling issues during the summer. The hardwood floor failed to realign, leaving it uneven and in need of a solution. With only 4" - 1 foot of crawlspace room to work with, the customer opted to remove the center of the floor for the installation of a Smart Jack system with CIPs and frost protection.
The joists, which were originally resting on rocks, required a strategic approach. We successfully installed beams and performed necessary sistering to provide the needed support. Despite the tight space constraints and the intricate nature of the job, our team delivered exceptional results, achieving a significant lift. The customer expressed satisfaction with the outcome.
In the words of the customer in their review: "We were kept informed of the work being done; the process and expectations. Tate was friendly, a good communicator, efficient, and completed the job. The crew cleaned up when done and were respectful of our 130-year-old school... We were very satisfied with the work and would recommend your company and those working on the school. They were a good crew of men and worked well together."
This customer reached out to DBS after noticing cracks in their basement walls and on the outside of the house. With the intention of potentially renting out or selling their property, they wanted to make sure their basement was safe and wasn't going to cause any further issues in the future.
When our Design Specialist, Nicholas Corbin, went out to the property, he inspected the cracks and was able to relate them to a foundation issue. The foundation was settling and the house needed to be supported through the installation of interior piers and lifts.
Once our production crew was able to get out to the residents property, they were able to install our 3" Push Piers that have a low profile bracket underneath the foundation and lift it back into place. Once the products were installed, the homeowner was happy with the results and could be more comfortable renovating the basement for the future of the house.
This customer reached out to DBS after an energy audit identified two specific issues in their townhouse. The first issue was that the lower wall in the kitchen, under a bay window, is drafty which prompted the need for inner wall insulation. The basement housed the second issue where there was mold on the insulation near the ceiling, and the customer wanted this addressed urgently.
Once our Design Specialist was able to get out to the property and conduct a thorough inspection, they recommended a plan to remove the current fiberglass insulation and use our spray foam on the rim joists. Since there was mold in the rim joists, our production crew would have to spray around 102 square feet of Mold-X around the rim joist and subfloor in the utility room. Additionally, there would need to be a dense pack of insulation for the wall underneath the bay window in the kitchen.
Once our production crew was able to get to the property, they evacuated the homeowner out of the property and sprayed the Mold X and installed the proper insulation. Once the project was complete, the customer was very happy with the results and communication provided by both the Design Specialist and production crew.
A homeowner contacted DBS for help with their foundation, which had developed cracks. The wooden posts supporting the porch and living room had sunk into the ground, causing instability. This homeowner contacted DBS after enduring a daily routine to bring their space heater upstairs just so they could warm the upstairs addition. They wanted proper insulation to alleviate this issue and finally have a warmer upstairs level.
Our Design Specialist visited the property and recommended a solution that involves a full installation of the attic.
When Kornell Green, our Foreman, and the crew went to the property, they installed 5 XL can light covers, air sealed and insulated the access points, baffles, and floors using our spray foam insulation. Recently, we had the pleasure of restoring peace of mind to homeowners in Richfield, MN, who faced a quite concerning scenario with their home's foundation. They noticed the floors above their crawlspace were lacking support and, as autumn's chill approached, a discernible cold draft made one room particularly uncomfortable. It was clear this wasn't just a minor issue—it affected their home's safety and comfort. After reaching out to our Appointment Center, we promptly scheduled a home inspection. Our Design Specialist dove into the heart of the issue, providing a comprehensive examination of the crawlspace. Identifying the root cause as inadequate foundation support, we knew exactly how to tackle it—introducing the homeowners to the SmartJack™ system. SmartJacks™ are ideal for this kind of problem. Not your average support system, these piers are designed to effectively support the foundation above. This innovative solution promised not only to address the immediate support issue but also to contribute towards a warmer, more insulated floor above the crawlspace. Our skilled installation team worked diligently, ensuring the process was seamless and non-intrusive. The transformation was noteworthy; after installing the SmartJack™ system, the difference in stability and warmth in the space above the crawlspace was immediately evident. The once cold and unstable room had now become a cozy, secure space the homeowners could enjoy without worry.
When a Minneapolis homeowner noticed water creeping into their basement every time it rained, they knew they needed a reliable solution—and fast. Concerned about long-term damage and the hassle of constantly dealing with the mess, they reached out to us at DBS for help. Understanding the urgency of the situation, our Customer Care team swiftly scheduled a home inspection.
Our System Design Specialist visited the home, meticulously inspecting the affected area to diagnose the root cause of the water intrusion. We discovered that part of the house was particularly vulnerable to leakage, necessitating a strategic waterproofing solution. To ensure minimal disruption to the home's aesthetic and functionality, we recommended discreetly installing a SmartSump™ in a closet area.
Our solution included installing WaterGuard®, our innovative below-floor drainage system designed to capture wall and floor seepage before it reaches the basement floor. To manage the collected water, we installed our reliable SmartSump™ system in the selected closet area, keeping it out of sight while fully functional. Additionally, we utilized CleanSpace® on the walls—an ultra-durable vapor barrier that blocks moisture and directs it to the WaterGuard® system, effectively keeping the basement dry and protected.
The outcome was nothing short of remarkable. Our production team expertly installed the waterproofing system, ensuring every component was perfectly in place and operational. Once the job was completed, the homeowner was thrilled to see their basement transformed into a dry, comfortable space. The worry of water leakage was a thing of the past, thanks to our dependable solution tailored specifically to their home's needs—providing peace of mind and a drier, healthier living environment for years to come.
Recently, a homeowner in Minneapolis reached out to us at DBS with concerns that settling concrete on their property had become a significant trip hazard for their mother, who relies on a walker for mobility. Understandably worried about the safety and accessibility of their home, they knew it was time to seek a professional solution. Upon contacting our team, we promptly arranged for a Systems Design Specialist to visit their home for a thorough inspection. Our specialist diagnosed the root of the problem and recommended a trio of solutions to not only fix the immediate issue but also prevent future hazards. Our recommendations included installing PolyLevel® to lift and stabilize the sunken concrete, NexusPro® to seal cracks and joints, effectively warding off water and wear, and finally, SealantPro® to protect the concrete from further elements’ damage, ensuring it lasts longer without issues. Our production team, led by an experienced foreman and comprised of skilled installers, got to work, swiftly implementing our solutions. The installation process was smooth and efficient, causing minimal disruption to the homeowner's daily activities. After completing the job, we made sure to clean up the area, leaving it better than we found it. The outcome was immediate and transformative. The once hazardous walkway became safe and level again, eliminating the risk for the homeowner's mother and restoring peace of mind to their family. This job, like so many others we undertake at DBS, showcases our commitment to providing not just short-term fixes, but reliable, long-lasting solutions that enhance our customers' lives.
At DBS, we recently had the opportunity to assist a homeowner in St. Louis Park, MN, dealing with a common yet frustrating issue: tripping hazards from an uneven front walkway. The misaligned concrete slabs not only posed safety risks but also had an improper slope that failed to redirect water away from the foundation. Seeking a reliable and long-lasting fix, the homeowner reached out to our team to begin the journey toward a safer walkway.
After contacting our Customer Care team, we quickly scheduled a complete home inspection. One of our skilled sales team members, specializing in systematic design, visited the site to assess the issues and discuss a tailored solution with the homeowner. We recommended PolyLevel®—an innovative, durable, and efficient product specifically designed for concrete problems. This high-density polyurethane foam effectively raises and stabilizes sunken concrete, correcting uneven surfaces and sloping issues.
Our process began with the precision and expertise our foreman and skilled installers are known for. Small holes were drilled into the affected concrete sections, allowing PolyLevel® to be injected underneath until the slabs were lifted back to their original levels and the proper slope away from the house was achieved. We ensured prompt cleanup to leave the property in pristine condition.
By transforming a frustrating safety hazard, our team not only eliminated tripping risks but also prevented potential water damage due to the improper slope. The homeowner in St. Louis Park appreciated not only the quick and non-invasive nature of our work but also the value of a genuine solution that prioritized their safety.
In Eden Prairie, MN, we undertook the exciting transformation of a backyard oasis that had been compromised by a shifted pool deck—an essential priority on our homeowner's renovation list. The before photo starkly illustrates the wear and tear, as well as the safety hazards, that had developed over the years, detracting from the overall beauty and functionality of the outdoor space.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, our team employed PolyLevel® to stabilize and lift the uneven concrete slabs. This innovative solution allowed us to address the underlying issues effectively, resulting in a perfectly level and safe surface that can be enjoyed for years to come. The remarkable transformation is clearly showcased in the after photo, where the area looks revitalized and inviting.
To further enhance the longevity of our work, we applied NexusPro® to seal the joints and prevent future damage from water infiltration and shifting soil. This added layer of protection ensures that the pool deck remains in top condition, safeguarding against the elements and providing peace of mind to the homeowners.
This restoration not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the backyard but also guarantees years of worry-free enjoyment for the family. Our commitment to delivering durable and beautiful improvements is at the heart of what we do, reflecting our dedication to creating outdoor spaces that our clients can cherish for years to come.
When the homeowner first reached out to us, they were understandably alarmed to discover unwelcome visitors in their attic. This not only highlighted a serious insulation problem but also raised concerns about the overall health and safety of their home. The before photo vividly illustrates the extent of the issue, showing not only the pests but also the inadequate insulation that had allowed them to infiltrate the space.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, our team at DBS was quick to devise an effective solution. We opted to install SilverGlo™, a premium insulation product known for its superior thermal performance and radiant barrier properties. This innovative material is designed to reflect heat away in the summer and retain warmth in the winter, contributing to significant energy savings. Additionally, we complemented this with Tru-Soft™ cellulose insulation, made from recycled paper, which is treated for pest resistance. This combination not only provides exceptional insulation but also adds an extra layer of protection against future pest intrusions.
The transformation is clearly evident in the after photo, where the attic now features a clean, well-insulated environment. This upgrade not only seals off potential entry points for pests but also dramatically enhances the home's energy efficiency. As a result, the living space below remains more comfortable year-round, with regulated temperatures and reduced energy costs.
Beyond the physical improvements, our work also provides the homeowner with peace of mind. Knowing that their attic is now secure and well-insulated allows them to focus on enjoying their home without the worry of pests or high energy bills. At DBS, we take pride in transforming homes like this one in Minneapolis, delivering dependable, long-lasting results that enhance both comfort and safety. Our commitment to excellence ensures that every project we undertake not only meets but exceeds our clients’ expectations, turning challenges into lasting solutions.
Transforming unsightly, uneven concrete can truly be a game changer for any homeowner, improving both safety and curb appeal. In Edina, MN, we faced a particularly challenging situation, as illustrated in the before photo. The uneven surfaces posed not only aesthetic issues but also potential hazards for the homeowners and their guests.
Thanks to a referral from Tate, who had previously installed piers for this home, we were given the opportunity to address these concerns with a lasting solution. Our team utilized advanced techniques and materials, specifically PolyLevel® and NexusPro®, to effectively remedy the situation. The after photo clearly demonstrates how we converted the problematic area into safe, stable, and visually appealing concrete surfaces.
Our method involved a careful evaluation of the underlying issues, followed by a precise application of PolyLevel® to lift and stabilize the concrete. NexusPro® was then used to seal any cracks and joints, ensuring long-term durability. This comprehensive approach not only provided a reliable fix but also underscored our commitment to delivering superior results and an exceptional customer experience. Homeowners can now enjoy a safe, attractive space, knowing they made a wise investment in their property’s value and appearance.
When faced with a tilted slab and a sinking sidewalk—major tripping hazards located right under the siding and the bottom of a door—a homeowner in Minneapolis, MN, urgently sought our help. The unstable condition of the walkway not only posed safety risks but also detracted from the home's overall appearance and value. The before photo clearly illustrates the challenges caused by the unpredictable Minnesota soil, which had led to substantial settling over time.
Understanding the urgency of the situation, our team sprang into action. We conducted a thorough assessment of the property to pinpoint the causes of the settling and determine the most effective solution. After evaluating the extent of the issue, we expertly injected PolyLevel®, a high-density polyurethane foam, to raise and stabilize the step and sidewalk. This innovative material is designed to expand and fill voids beneath the concrete, providing a robust lift while ensuring long-lasting support.
Once the PolyLevel® injection was complete, we took additional steps to enhance the stability and appearance of the area. We sealed the newly lifted surfaces with NexusPro® and SealantPro®, ensuring a crisp, level finish that is both durable and weather-resistant. The after photo vividly showcases the transformation, turning a hazardous walkway into a safe, smooth path leading to the home.
Our commitment to providing reliable, lasting solutions is evident in the results of this project. Not only did we address the immediate safety concerns, but we also enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the property. The condition of the slab not only detracted from the overall aesthetic of the property but also raised serious concerns about safety. With visible cracks and weaknesses, the risk of further damage and potential accidents loomed large, prompting the homeowner to seek a reliable solution.
Understanding the urgency of the situation, our team at DBS quickly mobilized to assess the extent of the damage and determine the most effective approach for repair. We conducted a thorough inspection to identify the underlying support issues contributing to the slab’s deterioration. It became clear that simply addressing the surface problems would not suffice; a comprehensive solution was necessary to ensure long-term stability and safety.
Our innovative PolyLevel® solution emerged as the ideal choice. This cutting-edge method involves injecting a high-density polyurethane foam beneath the concrete slab. As the foam expands, it fills voids and provides critical support, effectively lifting and revitalizing the slab. This process not only addresses the immediate structural concerns but also enhances the slab's overall appearance, restoring its integrity.
