A lake home in Fort Ripley, MN was experiencing some structural issues with the main level floor, and it was concerning for the owner. The floor was beginning to sag, much like you would see with an old crawl space. This was a result of the lack of structural support the basement contained. In need of a solution, the owner reached out to DBS and had our Design Specialist James Miller visit and offer them a free, no-obligation estimate for the repairs. After a thorough inspection, it was determined that the basement area would need to have a set of SmartJack® XT units installed to properly support the structure. The SmartJack® System is comprised of galvanized steel jacks that latch on to a heavy-duty supplemental beam going across the ceiling joists, and act similarly to wood posts or other support beams. However, the SmartJack® System is inorganic and will not deteriorate over time, making it an ideal product for floor stabilization. The photo attached shows the near-end result of this particular project. The results turned out great, and the homeowner can now feel more comfortable with the support of their sagging floor.
