Home Insulation Photo Album: Rim Joist Insulation in Hurley, MN
DBS recently completed a whole-home rim joist insulation project in Duluth, MN, providing a comprehensive solution for improved energy efficiency. The project utilized TruSoft Cellulose, a high-performance insulation material that creates a dense, tightly packed barrier to reduce air leaks and improve thermal performance. Initially, the homeowner considered insulating specific areas, including hard-to-reach rim joists, but after discussing the benefits, they decided to move forward with the full home dense packing option. This approach ensures a tighter, more energy-efficient home, addressing drafts and improving comfort throughout the entire space.

Densely Packed Insulation
We made sure to get into the crevasses for an air tight seal.

We even got into the ceilings and were able to spray foam the rim joists above.
