Home Insulation Photo Album: Duluth, MN Insulates Attic in Order to Sell

This Duluth, MN home had an attic that wasn't properly insulated. When warm air from the home met the cold attic, condensation was forming. In turn, this was causing damage to the insulation and the living space below it. After receiving a recommendation from a home inspector, the home owner contacted DBS for a solution. A Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. After inspection, it was determined that air sealing and sufficient spray foam were necessary to offer a proper seal to the attic space.  Our production crew first sealed the gaps in building material and spaces surrounding the attic ducts with ZypFoam™. From there, they completely sealed the space with closed-cell spray foam, at 3-5 inches depending on the location in the attic.  Sealing the attic was key to prevent warm air from escaping the home, and improving the overall energy health of the space.
