Insulation Project in Minneapolis, MN
Challenge
The customer initially contacted DBS following an energy audit that pinpointed two distinct issues within their townhouse. Firstly, there was a drafty lower wall in the kitchen, specifically under a bay window, necessitating the implementation of inner wall insulation. The second issue resided in the basement, where mold was discovered on the insulation near the ceiling, requiring urgent attention.
Solution
Upon dispatching our Design Specialist for a comprehensive property inspection, a plan was formulated. The recommendation involved the removal of the existing fiberglass insulation and the application of our spray foam on the rim joists. Given the presence of mold in the rim joists, our production crew executed a meticulous process, spraying approximately 102 square feet of Mold-X around the rim joist and subfloor in the utility room. Furthermore, a dense pack of insulation was administered for the wall beneath the bay window in the kitchen. The production crew, after evacuating the homeowner from the property, successfully implemented the plan. The customer expressed satisfaction with the results and appreciated the effective communication from both the Design Specialist and the production crew throughout the project.
