New owners of this townhome in Maplewood, MN wanted to tackle two major issues upon move-in. First, take care of the water leaking into the finished basement. Second, fix the sinking sunroom and give it permanent support.DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo is an expert in foundation repair and basement waterproofing. He visited the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the basement and sunroom repair projects. After creating a custom repair plan, two crews were scheduled to install the home repair solutions.First, Jose Valenzuela and his piering crew installed 3 helical piers to stabilize the sinking sunroom. From there, they removed the old vertical columns and sunken concrete. Afterward, Zach Jorenby led a crew to install the basement waterproofing system. They installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier on the walls that had trouble with moisture. From there, they installed 35 feet of WaterGuard®, our interior drain tile. This system is designed to capture water seepage through walls and leaks along the wall and floor joint, this drain system effectively captures wall and floor seepage before it reaches your basement floor. Water enters the system via inlet holes and flows through the drainage pipe to your sump pump. This home is now stable and dry - ready for its new homeowners!
