The owner of this 1950s home in Duluth noticed that cracks in the basement foundation walls were leaking water. Because this property is a rental, the owners wanted to tackle these issues to ensure that the home was healthy, safe, and comfortable for the residents. Looking for a permanent solution to protect their basement, they contacted DBS. DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation inspection and estimate for the work. After visiting the home, Henrik reviewed the inspection with the homeowner and recommended the installation of a waterproofing and foundation repair system to fully protect the home. DBS Foreman Zach Royer and his crew installed the full waterproofing system in this basement. It consists of a CleanSpace® vapor barrier to stop water and a WaterGuard® subfloor french drainage system to drain water. These two products connect to a new SuperSump plus™ sump pump that will keep water out of the home for good. The crew installed 30 feet of supplement beam and 6 SmartJack® beams to stabilize the sinking floor. The homeowners can now rest easy knowing their home is healthy, safe, and comfortable!
