Foundation Repair Photo Album: Family Cabin in Remer, MN with Cracked Foundation is Supported with GeoLocks
The owner of this family cabin in Remer, MN was concerned with worsening cracks in the basement walls. Bowing and cracked walls were leaking water and causing damage to the partially finished basement. DBS Design Specialist Nathan Schroeder visited the home and provided a thorough inspection and a free, no-obligation estimate for the bowing basement walls. He proposed both our PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System and GeoLock™ Wall Anchor System to permanently stabilize and restore the shifting foundation.DBS Foreman Nick Burley and first removed a bit of the drywall in the basement to prep for installation of the foundation support system. 4 GeoLock™ Wall Plates were then installed, connected to 4 Earth Anchors on the exterior of the home. Then they installed 2 PowerBrace I-beams, connecting them to the basement's concrete floor and ceiling joists. Initial tightening by our crew was done to immediately straighten the wall's position. These beams will be tightened over time by our service department with the goal of restoring the wall to its original position.
Both of these foundation repair systems will work together to correct the cracked and bowing walls. The homeowner can now rest easy knowing that their home has been thoroughly supported by DBS.
