Foundation Repair Photo Album: Saint Paul, MN Leaky Basement Repaired with Foundation Support System
Homeowners of this 1960's home in Saint Paul, MN were starting to notice cracks in their foundation worsening. It appeared that individual foundation blocks were shifting, and this was causing water issues for their finished basement. To prevent further damage, they reached our to DBS for more on our foundation repair service.
DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the home and performed a thorough inspection, assessing the basement wall cracking, as well as the exterior of the home. He discovered some shifting and cracking in a concrete slab near the home's foundation, which he determined was one source of the leaking basement. His action plan for the block walls in the basement was to install our PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System, and to lift and level the sinking concrete on the home's exterior.
First, our Concrete Repair Foreman Dustin Behning remedied the sunken concrete issue with PolyLevel®, and sealed the cracks with NexusPro™.DBS Foreman Zach Jorenby and crew installed 4 PowerBrace™ I-beams. Our team anchored the beams to the basement concrete, as well as to the rim joists in the ceiling. These beams will be tightened overtime to restore the wall's original position.
The homeowners were happy with the work done and can now count on a safe and supported basement.
