Foundation Repair Photo Album: Two Harbors, MN Home Has Structural and Energy Update

This Two Harbors, MN home was built in the 1980's. Since then, the foundation has shifted on the home, causing issues with the home's deck space and crawl space, where water was pooling and cold air was flowing in. The garage was also posing issues for the family, it had significantly shifted over time, moving off of its poured foundation.  DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate for a the combination of crawl space encapsulation and foundation support. After the inspection, he recommended several systems to get this home back in tip top shape for its owners.  Basement Repair Production Manager Kevin Steffey was the foreman on the job. He and his production crew began in the crawl space, by excavating a layer of soil before installing our encapsulation system. This consisted of drainage matting, CleanSpace® vapor barrier, and a SmartSump™ pump pump. This crawl space drainage system is specially designed for crawl spaces. It has a lower profile than other pump packages, making installation in tight quarters easier. From there, our team installed over 100 feet of supplemental support beams to restore the garage foundation, as well as the home's sinking porch. From there, they drove 15 Helicast™ Helical Piers into the ground to support and restore the garage's original position.
