This cabin in Tower, MN was first built in 1895. After owning this property since the 1960's, they've noticed some significant issues with the cabin's foundation and crawl space. Concerned about protecting this family heirloom, the owners contacted DBS for a permanent solution. Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate. It was determined that a lift procedure was needed to address foundation settlement, as well as some supplemental support. Jose Valenzuela and his crew installed 100+ feet of supplemental support beam beneath the home and then drove 6 HelixPro® piers into the ground to support the structure. These piers are driven through the soil, down to the strata layer of rock, providing solid support to the space. The crew also installed 9 SmartJack® support beams in the cabin crawl space to lift the sinking cabin floors. The owner was happy with the work done, and can continue to enjoy this cabin retreat with family for years to come!
