Wall Anchors are used when the foundation has sustained fairly significant damage and the option to excavate outside the home is available. This Winter, WI home had wooden foundation walls which were not standing up the the pressures the ground around them was putting on them. To remedy this situation we needed to drive a rod through the wall and several feet away from the home where it is anchored in place with an earth anchor. This anchor grabs hold in the solid ground further away form the home and gives it a solid pulling point which the wall can be adjusted back toward. This additional structural integrity for the wall ensures that the wall will move no further and can even be adjusted back into place. DBS works on these types of problems most often with concrete block, poured, and stone foundations, but our solutions work just as well for wood foundations.

To provide the support needed for the wood foundation wall to handle our earth anchors we only needed to add a board along the top and bottom of the anchors.

Anchors Connected

Here you can see the rods that were driven through the basement wall into the soil on the other side. These rods continue through the soil several more feet before we dig down to place an earth anchor on the other side. These anchors grip the solid earth and provide the anchoring necessary to pull the wall back into place.
