Cracked Foundation Repaired with Earth Anchors in Chanhassen, MN
Challenge
With a crack stretching across the wall the homeowner knew there was potential for his foundation wall to bow and collapse. He had one of our repair specialists assess the situation and it was decided that the foundation wall required stabilization and support. The homeowner didn't want a solution that would take up much room in the basement so our specialist had to present solutions that would work in this circumstance.
Solution
Fortunately, with a large variety of solutions, the homeowner and our specialist were able to agree on a solution that the homeowner felt was appropriate and would permanently support the foundation. With room to dig up around the outside of the home Earth Anchors were that proper solution. We carefully dug up several feet away from the home outside of the backfill soil area to create a permanent anchor point for the geo locks to secure the foundation wall. The plates installed on the foundation wall connect the wall to the anchor point deep in the earth and now provide permanent support. By paying attention to detail while digging up outside of the home we were able to provide a solution with limited effect on the lawn.
