SmartJacks® Installed for Sinking Cabin Foundation in Hinckley, MN
Challenge
This cabin owner contacted DBS after recently purchasing a piece of land with a cabin on it and was unsure whether to repair or demolish it. The cabin required fixing a fallen beam and additional support, with potential plans for future renovations and it was a challenge to get in and out due to the lack of entryways.
Solution
When our Design Specialist went out to look at the cabin's foundation, they proposed a foundation lifting solution to help lift and permanently stabilize the cabin. Our crew installed 15 SmartJacks® and a 46-foot supplemental beam successfully, despite the difficulties in accessing the cabin. The foundation lifting solution helped lift and permanently stabilize the cabin. After the work was completed, the crew did a final walkthrough with the cabin owner, who was very happy with the outcome.
