Unique PowerBrace™ Project in Alborn, MN
Challenge
In many situations, PowerBrace™ installation can seem pretty straightforward. A single brace can be fitted properly to a foundation wall without too much complication. A homeowner in Alborn, MN reached out to DBS regarding wall cracking in their basement, which can be worrisome. DBS sent out a Design Specialist to inspect the area and provide a free, no-obligation estimate for the service. It was concluded that the basement needed to have PowerBraces™ installed along the cracking foundation. However, one of the walls that would require added support could be found sitting beneath the staircase, and would be a tight fit for the product to be installed. Nevertheless, DBS was up for the task.
Solution
The best way to tackle the smaller wall area was to create a special "H" design using multiple PowerBrace™ units. One 8 ft. PowerBrace™ would be installed just on the outside of the wall space, while another unit would be cut in half, and used to create the "H" design, as seen in the photo attached. The foundation wall is still being properly supported with the cut PowerBrace™ unit and the normal unit working in sync, and the stability works equally the same as a normal design. As for the remaining area of the foundation, this would be supported with the standard PowerBrace™ units found on a lot of wall repair projects. This product is very dependable in adding stability to failing foundation walls, and can even help shift the wall back to its original position. Though this particular project had bit of a twist to it, the results were still satisfactory, and the homeowner can now enjoy a more safe and comfortable basement environment.
