Foundation Stabilization in Balsam Lake, WI

Challenge

DBS received a call that there was a home in Balsam Lake, WI that had urgent foundation problems. The clients said that water had gone through the home and the foundation needed maintenance as soon as possible because of a water problem that caused foundation failure, spreading to the crawl space and other problems in the home. DBS needed to stabilize the foundation quickly before more problems began to stem from the foundation failure. The water damage can also create a long list of problems in a home such as sump pumps, dehumidifiers, mold problems, mildew scents, and more. 

Solution

The water and foundation problems created multiple other problems, the crawl space was sinking and there was an area of the foundation that was breaking away.

DBS created a proposal as soon as possible to make sure the problem was taken care of as soon as possible for the homeowners. Our objective was to permanently stabilize the foundation in the home by installing Push Piers to support the foundation, then taking the soil out at the footing of the piers to make sure they were on stable ground. After this, we would fill the soil back up and work with the system when it was replaced.

This project was a challenge for DBS because there was no overhead power in the area and then there were many obstacles in digging, but our Design Specialist, Royce Bunn, set up the proposal and ensured hard to work to repair the foundation of the home. This would ultimately correct the other problems in the home that stemmed from the water and foundation problems, to create a safe, enjoyable living space.
