DBS PowerBrace™ and SmartJack® Systems Save Home In Ashland, WI Experiencing Basement Wall Failure

This home in Ashland, WI suffered from cracking basement walls. Cracking in the walls had made it easy for water to leak into the basement over time, raising concerns regarding the safety of their basement. The owner had just purchased the home in May and was looking forward to making renovations, but knew that they needed to address the foundation issues before doing so. In hopes of finding a permanent solution, they reached out to DBS.

Design Specialist James Miller visited the property to conduct a free no-obligation estimate of the issue. After completing a thorough inspection, James advised the homeowner that the supporting wooden columns in the basement needed to be replaced in order to stabilize the home. James suggested that DBS's SmartJack® System and PowerBrace™ Wall Bracing System solutions would solve the wall cracking issue.

Foreman Osia Williams led the installation of this project alongside his crew. Together they installed 3 PowerBrace™ I-beams and 6 SmartJack® supports. Upon completion of installation, the walls are unable to crack or bow any further, and the home has been permanently stabilized.

The homeowner can now have peace of mind when beginning their renovation projects knowing that the walls have been supported and that their basement foundation is structurally sound.
