A Northwoods retreat in Two Harbors, MN had crawl space issues. Wetness and damage to the insulation produced a bad odor that affected the rest of the home. Looking for a solution to restore comfort to their home, the homeowners reached out to DBS about our crawl space encapsulation service. Dr. Energy Saver Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer visited the home and completed a thorough inspection of the crawl space. He discovered moldy insulation, water damage, and clear signs of critters living in the space. Henry designed a plan that included removing the damaged insulation and replacing it with our crawl space encapsulation system. DBS Foreman Nick Woods II led this crawl space repair project. After removing the damaged insulation, our team worked to address the moisture issues by installing a SmartDrain® crawl space drainage system. From there, they applied our 3-layer crawl space encapsulation system consisting of; drainage matting, TerraBlock™ insulation, and a CleanSpace® vapor barrier. The homeowners were happy with the work and now have a healthy, safe, and comfortable home once again!
