After 35 years of living in their home, the owner wanted to tackle issues stemming from the crawl space. Freezing pipes and mice making themselves a little too comfortable were the result of the under-insulated, unsealed dirt crawlspace beneath the home. Looking for a permanent solution, they reached out to DBS to schedule a free, no-obligation estimate.Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer is an expert in home insulation and energy-saving. Once he visited the home and provided a thorough inspection of the crawl space, he designed a plan that would restore comfort to the home. Our team would install our full encapsulation system; first drainage matting, next crawlspace insulation, and finally, a CleanSpace® vapor barrier.DBS Foreman Nick Woods II led the install of this crawl space encapsulation project. After the 3-part encapsulation system was installed, our team also installed spray foam on the vertical crawl space walls to completely seal and insulate the space. DBS also installed a SaniDry dehumidifier and connected it to a SmartDrain. These two crawl space dehumidification products will eliminate excess moisture in the crawl space to prevent mold growth and wood rot in the future.This home is now equipped with products that will ensure year-round comfort and energy savings!
