These Superior, WI homeowners wanted to be rid of musty smells and uneven floors. They figured their crawl space was to blame and called DBS to schedule a free, no-obligation estimate with one of our foundation repair experts.DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the home and performed a thorough inspection inside and out. He found some significant cracking in the foundation and sinking crawl space supports. Because the home had issues with musty, moldy smells, he proposed our crawl space encapsulation service. This will not only solve water and mold issues in the crawl space but also provide insulation and protection for the elements year-round to save on energy bills. This home repair project was broken down into phases, starting with the foundation repair. DBS Foreman Osia Williams and his crew installed three helical piers supporting a horizontal steel I-beam, returning the home to a level position. From there, our crawl space encapsulation crew took over and installed a CleanSpace® vapor barrier and SmartSump® system to keep water out of the crawl space. This home now has a solid system to stay stable and dry!

Supplemental Beam and Piers

To supplement for the lack of structural support on this side of the home, our team installed long sections of steel I-beams, held up with our helical piers.
