These homeowners in Ely, Minnesota reached out to DBS for help encapsulating their crawl space. They were experiencing moisture and odors circulating the home as outdoor air was entering the crawl space. A Dr. Energy Saver® Design Specialist went to the home and provided a free, no-obligation estimate for the work. After inspecting the home and measuring heat loss in the home it was recommended to utilize closed cell spray foam to insulate the walls and rim joists of this crawl space. Moisture in the crawl space will be removed by utilizing CleanSpace® vapor barrier, drainage matting, and installing a new TripleSafe™ sump pump. This home was repaired by DBS Foreman Jason Foster and his production crew. This home is now healthy, safe, and comfortable!

Exposed Earth Floor Allows Moisture

The crawl space had an exposed earth floor that allowed moisture into the home. When left untreated, the results were mold and musty odors throughout the home.

Closed-Cell Spray Foam and CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier

Spray foam and CleanSpace® are working together to seal this crawl space. Outdoor air can no longer enter the home through the rim joist connection points and moisture is sealed off from under the home.

Drainage Matting Installed

Drainage matting is installed under CleanSpace® and directs any water to a drain system. Unwanted water can now flow out of this home with ease.

Closed-Cell Spray Foam On Rim Joists

Closed-cell spray foam has been applied to the rim joists in the crawl space to seal off air completely. This will protect the home from high heating and cooling costs while reducing allergens.

Spray Foam 5" Inches Thick

Closed-cell spray foam is applied between 3" and 5" inches thick to properly seal and insulate a home.

CleanSpace® Is Extremely Durable

CleanSpace® is extremely durable and will not rip or tear in a crawl space. Homeowners can store items in their crawl space with confidence.
