Crawlspace Insulation, Waterproofing, and Foundation Repair in Bovey, MN
Challenge
Homeownership comes with its fair share of challenges, and one such challenge confronted a new homeowner who reached out to DBS for assistance. Upon purchasing their house, they discovered issues in their crawlspace that needed attention to ensure a dry and stable environment suitable for storage. During the inspection, Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo identified a crack in the foundation wall, indicating potential structural concerns. The challenge presented was to address this foundational issue and create an optimal space for storage while preventing water damage and instability.
Solution
To tackle the identified challenges, DBS proposed a comprehensive solution. Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo recommended the installation of three push piers to stabilize and lift the foundation wall. Additionally, the team suggested a fully insulated and waterproofed crawlspace. Foreman Jared Peterson and his crew took charge, implementing the plan with precision. The crew began by installing the push piers to lift and stabilize the foundation, addressing the foundational crack. To ensure the crawlspace remained dry and well-insulated, a spray foam system was applied to the walls and rim joists. The installation of the CleanSpace™ Wall System directed water to a sump pump, preventing mold and mildew growth. The final touches included the incorporation of the TripleSafe™ sump pump and a SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifier, guaranteeing a consistently dry and clean environment. The result was a successful transformation of the crawlspace, providing the homeowner with a secure and dry space for additional storage.
