Crawlspace Encapsulation and TripleSafe™ Sump Pump Insulation in Northfield, MN
Challenge
The homeowner faced a significant challenge when issues in their crawlspace became apparent. Upon inspection, our Design Specialist discovered a large crawlspace with plastic on the floor, which was identified as a contributing factor to the problems. To address the dampness issue, a suitable solution was needed for this spacious area. The challenge included the removal of the existing plastic, installing a SmartPipe system, and determining the optimal placement for a TripleSafe™ sump system. Despite the presence of a functional sump, the task involved installing a new one next to the HVAC unit. Maintaining the head height for standing and ducking, while preserving the existing insulation on the walls, added complexity to the project.
Solution
To address the challenges in the crawlspace, a comprehensive solution was implemented by our crew. The first step involved removing the plastic on the floor to eliminate the source of the problem. The installation of a SmartPipe system and TripleSafe™ sump system was strategically installed next to the HVAC unit. To further enhance the crawlspace environment, a CleanSpace® encapsulation was applied to all exterior walls. Additionally, 200 ft of SmartPipe was installed after thorough debris removal. The crew's performance, including the successful TripleSafe™ sump installation and other necessary work, left the customer highly satisfied with the results.
