Crawl Space Renovation in Isle, MN
Challenge
DBS received a call from a homeowner in Isle, MN that was having several problems with their crawlspace. The first was that they needed support beams installed to support the floor joist system. The crawl space was previously lacking support and beams, the crawl space also had trouble with staying dry and keeping water damage away. Our homeowners also wanted to make sure the area was warm throughout all seasons, as well as dry. DBS came up with several different residential solutions to ensure our customer's crawl space was warm, dry, and supported.
Solution
The first solution we resolved was the support of the floor above the crawl space. DBS installed a SmartJack® system across the center of the crawl space to make sure it was supported throughout. Then we found multiple solutions to waterproofing the area. DBS installed a drain for any water or moisture to exit the area, followed by a CleanSpace vapor barrier along the entire thing to keep the crawl space area dry. We also installed a SmartSump® Premier Pump System to make sure the water in the home and crawl space were being managed correctly. Our last residential solution was to keep the crawl space and the home warm. For this, we go use installation on our Dr. Energy Side and install spray foam insulation around the crawl space to keep the area warm and conserve energy.
