Warm, Dry Crawl Space Project in Holyoke, MN.
Challenge
DBS received a call with multiple crawl space problems. The home in Holyoke was having trouble with their crawl space staying warm, affecting the overall temperature of the home. They also noticed that their crawl space was not wet, causing mold and other odors. They were very upset about the crawl space problems because it was causing the home to be cold and have problems with mold, creating an unpleasant smell. The clients also have a three season porch that was very drafty, also making the home cold. We sent one of our design specialists to the home to see how we could make the crawl space and three season porch warmer, while also making sure the crawl space area was dry and waterproof.
Solution
Upon arrival, DBS had a fast solution for the clients. Our design specialist made a plan to install our SilverGlo™ as insulation on the crawl space walls, then adding insulation from our spray foam service to the entire crawl space to keep the area warm and prevent cold air getting in. DBS also installed a crawl space door that will never rot or mold, even in high moisture environments. To keep the crawl space dry, we’ve used our high performance moisture barrier with drainage to prevent mold and other mildew smells. To keep the three season porch warm, DBS also added our spray foam insulation to that area in the ceiling and the floor to make sure it’s a comfortable temperature for our clients. Upon leaving, the crawl space was waterproof and insulated, as well as the three season porch. DBS is always happy to make homes warm and dry for our clients to live in comfort!
