Owners of this newly purchased Mountain Iron, MN home knew it needed a lot of help in the basement. Overtime, soil pressure had caused its foundation walls to crack and bow. The homeowners were tired of cleaning up water from the leaking foundation and were hoping to gain some more usuable space in their home. DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo went to the home and provided a inspection and estimate for the work. After visiting the home, Henrik recommended installation of a waterproofing and foundation repair system to fully protect the home. Because this home had multiple home repair needs, it was broken up into 2 projects. Our highly-trained installers from both foundation support and waterproofing visited the home to complete the repair in their area expertise. DBS Foreman Joe Harris and his crew installed the waterproofing system consisting of a CleanSpace® vapor barrier to stop water and a WaterGuard® subfloor french drainage system to drain water out of the home for good. DBS Foreman Dustin Behning and crew installed 10 PowerBrace™ wall support beams to stabilize the walls and prevent any further movement. These galvanized steel I-beams will be tightened over time with the goal of restoring the wall to its original position. The homeowners can now rest easy knowing their home is healthy, safe, and comfortable!
