Waterproofing Finished Basement in Tower, Minnesota
Challenge
This finished basement had experienced issues with water. With the organic materials that the homeowner had used to finish the basement, it was important that water and moisture don't get to the materials again or they could become moldy, musty, and rot completely. The homeowner wanted to permanently waterproof the basement and knew DBS Residential Solutions would provide the permanent solution that he needed. This home had water that would come in through the walls and the floor so our specialist knew the exact solution that this finished basement would need.
Solution
To permanently fix the issue, our specialist relayed to the customer that he would benefit from our waterproofing system which combines our CleanSpace wall matting with a new drain tile system. This system went in quite easily with only a large fireplace presenting a small obstacle for our team. They dug out a trench around the perimeter of the area to be waterproofed and installed a new drain tile. Above the new drain tile, they installed our CleanSpace matting which allows water to drain down the wall into the drain tile. After the water reaches the drain tile it is diverted into the newly installed TripleSafe sump pump which utilizes three pumps to carry water away from the home even in the worst circumstances.
